Loblaw shakes up leadership, names CMO and EVP appointments

Loblaw has promoted Mary MacIsaac (pictured above) to executive vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO), while Lauren Steinberg has been appointed executive vice president and chief digital officer (CDO).

Also, ex-7-Eleven exec Danni Peirce will join the company in March as executive vice president and chief sourcing officer.

MacIsaac has been with Loblaw for close to 14 years, having served as senior VP of Loblaw marketing and control brands and as a member of the management board with Loblaw Companies Limited.

MacIsaac oversees the Loblaw Brands function – which develops several of the country’s top private label brands, including President’s Choice, No Name, Life Brand and Farmer’s Market – as well as the company’s marketing efforts.

Her teams create products included in the PC Insider’s programs, and are also responsible for the multi-platform, multi-million dollar promotional campaigns that drive their adoption.

MacIsaac joined the company as a VP of marketing in 2011 and was also a former director of marketing for Ontario Craft Brewers.

Steinberg (pictured above right) has been with Loblaw Digital for nearly 12 years and most recently was senior vice president of loyalty, retail media and digital at the company. Her EVP and CDO duties include oversight of digital, ecommerce, retail media and loyalty. Steinberg was also Loblaw Digital SVP for four-and-a-half years. She joined Loblaw Digital as a senior manager of marketing in 2013.

Previously, she held ecommerce management posts with The Body Shop and L’Occitane.

Danni Peirce (pictured left) was also appointed chief executive officer for 7-Eleven in 2023 at the DFI retail group, responsible for a network of 3,300 stores across Asia.

She joined the team in 2018, and has held various senior director posts in the areas of loyalty and commerce. Peirce has worked in senior merchandising roles for Southeastern Grocers in the U.S., the Florida-headquartered company which operates Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie.
