RBI makes changes at Popeyes

Alexandre Antonello (pictured) is starting a new position as VP of brand marketing for Popeyes U.S. and Canada at Restaurant Brands International (RBI).

Antonello was most recently

Previously, as VP of brand marketing for Popeyes U.S., Antonello was responsible for brand strategy, communication, innovation and media in the U.S. and international markets, leading brand repositioning and a new global comms platform for TV and social.

Before joining RBI in 2019 as Latin American head of marketing for Burger King, Popeyes and Tim Hortons, he was senior marketing director of pet care for Mars, based in Mexico. Antonello led regional and local development of innovation, including a complete renovation of all Pedigree and Whiskas ranges and innovation, expanding into new partitions and technologies.

Mars names new marketing VP for North America

Mars Incorporated maker of Ben’s Original, M&Ms and Pedigree has appointed David Jacobs vice president of marketing for Mars Food and Nutrition North America.

In his new role, Jacobs will lead strategies to drive penetration and accelerate growth across the rice and ready meal categories in the U.S. and Canada.

Jacobs brings extensive sales and marketing experience across multiple consumer brands and companies, including SC Johnson (SCJ) and Unilever.

At SCJ, as executive director and head of marketing for North America, Jacobs led the marketing function for the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean, including strategic planning, P&L responsibility and execution of annual business plans for all SCJ brands

In Canada, he was a nearly eight-year Unilever brand management veteran, contributing to Becel, Imperial, Skippy, Ragu, Hellmanns, Lipton and Knorr work.

Reporting to Dave Dusangh, regional president of Mars Food and Nutrition North America, Jacobs will oversee growth plans for Ben’s Original and the Seeds of Change accelerator program.
