Delivery app Skip just launched its “Skip Winter Delivery Fleet” – custom orange snowplows – and 30% or more off restaurant and retail brands like McDonald’s, Boston Pizza and Rexall.
The Toronto launch comes as the GTA is bracing for “significant snowfall” of up to 30 centimetres starting Wednesday afternoon, according to Environment Canada.
“As Canada’s homegrown delivery network, we understand that Canadian winters can be unpredictable,” Rachel MacAdam, VP of marketing at Skip, said in a release. “No matter what the season throws at us, Skip is here to help Canadians avoid the winter hassles and get right to the good part. Whether it’s a comforting meal, last-minute meds to kick a pesky cold or a week full of groceries, we’re making it easier than ever, with plowed streets and freshly fallen deals.”
Skip’s “Winter Delivery Fleet” was launched along with a new creative ad campaign across social media, OOH and digital channels.
In November, Skip launched a paid membership program to give its members discounts and access to experiences with a roster of brand partners, including CIBC, Live Nation Canada, WestJet and the NHL. Skip+ combines free delivery, bonus points and reduced service fees with offers and experiences for members, such as travel benefits with WestJet and NHL game tickets.
The paid membership program launch came after SkipTheDishes’ CEO announced on social media in August that it, along with parent company Just Eat Takeaway.com, had laid off approximately 800 employees from its workforce.
