CPL to kick off with new marketing VP
The Canadian Premier League (CPL) appointed George Fadel to the role of vice president of marketing.
Fadel will serve as a member of the Commissioner’s Office and will oversee all aspects of the CPL’s marketing strategy, including brand and digital marketing, with a mandate to drive the continued growth of the league’s brand and fanbase in Canada and beyond.
Fadel most recently served as the head of business solutions for the North Carolina Courage in the National Women’s Soccer League and North Carolina FC of the United Soccer League (USL) Championship, after joining the organizations as the senior VP of marketing and communications.
Fadel got his start in sport with the Canadian Olympic Committee in the lead up to the London 2012 Summer Olympics. He started his career in soccer as a member of Canada Soccer’s Toronto-based host committee during the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Calgary women’s soccer team names top marketer
Chantal Crockatt is starting a new position as director of marketing at professional women’s soccer league club Calgary Wild FC.
She held manager, communications and marketing duties at The Business Council of Alberta.
Crockatt is formerly senior account manager with Marr Media Group, a North American social media management agency, and was director of marketing and client experience at Calgary’s ThinkTech Software.
Ex-GroupM associate director joins TSN
Shaun Ferguson is starting a new role as account executive of brand partnerships at TSN Canada.
Agency-side, Ferguson was associate director, senior manager and manager partnerships with GroupM. He is also a former senior strategist with OMD Canada, handling brand work for Mercedes-Benz Canada and McDonald’s.
