The Hive appoints Dino Demopoulos as CSO

The Hive has named Dino Demopoulos its chief strategy officer.

Demopoulos has headed strategy at such agencies as BBDO Proximity, DDB Tribal Worldwide, No Fixed Address and most recently Gut, where he served in the CSO role. He has also led strategic planning for brands such as Volkswagen, Pepsi, McDonald’s, Canadian Tire, Shaw, Tim Hortons, Tropicana and Quaker.

While at DDB, Demopoulos was involved in such award-winning campaigns as Adidas’ “Run More” and Honey Nut Cheerios’ “How To Dad.” His work on Tim Hortons was awarded a Grand Effie for creative effectiveness.

Earlier this year, The Hive added new CEO and ex-Dentsu Creative VP Josie Daga to the leadership team, and last fall, it named Jean George its new VP of strategy. The appointment of Demopoulos also marks a reunion with Daga.

The Hive’s leadership team includes Daga, Demopoulos, chief client officer Hilary Roberts and co-chief creative officers Lauren McCrindle and Erin Wendel, who joined The Hive last summer from McCann, New York.

“As a Canadian independent we can choose to invest in the kind of talent we need to do the best work for our clients,” says Daga. “With the addition of (McCrindle) and (Wendel) last summer, (Roberts) as our client lead and now (Demopoulos), we have built an incredibly talented executive bench. These senior leaders are ready to work directly with our clients to help their businesses and brands grow.”

Hive has handled brand creative for strategy Brand of the Year, EQ Bank, Canadian Olympic Committee and BRP.
