Newfoundland Power has selected Target as its full-service agency of record.
The Canadian utility and subsidiary of Fortis announced that the deal, a multi-year partnership, will see Target play a key role in enhancing safety awareness and promoting sustainable, energy-efficient solutions for Newfoundland Power’s customers.
M5 held the remit prior.
“[Newfoundland Power has] been bringing warmth and light into the homes and businesses of people across the island portion of the province for 140 years,” says Target’s president, Catherine Kelly. “We’re excited to help tell that story.”
Target tells strategy it has recently expanded its team with new talent across creative, media and digital roles.
The agency says most Newfoundland Power campaigns go to market in the spring, timed to home reno season and in the fall to coincide with the lead-up to home heating season.
The new appointment marks the first AOR partnership between Target and Newfoundland Power.
Known for its award-winning creative work with Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism, most recently coming to market in response to Trump’s tariffs, Target also has a strong track record in the energy sector, having worked with brands such as Ultramar, North Atlantic Petroleum, Natural Resources Canada and Irving Oil.
