PetSmart hires senior director of marketing

Vanessa Mosakos is now leading the Canadian marketing team at PetSmart.

Mosakos joins the pet retailer after serving as Boston Pizza’s senior director of marketing content and local restaurant marketing.

On the CPG front, Mosakos was senior director of marketing and content at Sephora, where she supported Mother’s Day and Lunar New Year campaigns.

Prior, she was worked in a marketing director role at Mondelez, where she oversaw campaign work for Oreos, Chips Ahoy! and others. Mosakos also worked as a senior brand manager of desserts at Kraft Heinz.

Power Corp. brings in Betsey Chung as board director

Betsey Chung is starting a new position with the Power Corporation of Canada group of companies as board director for IGM Financial, IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments.

Chung is the former EVP and global chief marketing officer at TD Bank, where she oversaw the articulation of purpose-driven strategy across the bank’s global footprint.

Chung worked at TD from 2017 to 2023 and helped to re-shape the bank’s digital-channel experience.

She oversaw a creative doubling up of TD’s Super Bowl marketing and the rollout of TD’s direct-investment app.

Prior, she held chief marketing duties for global banking and wealth at BMO.

Chung currently sits on the advisory board at private-equity firm Beringer Capital also sits on the board of directors at Meridian Credit Union.

Bel Group Canada makes senior moves

Bel Group Canada has appointed Amandine Pruvot as Boursin brand director and promoted Stefania Traglia to become its director of innovation, strategy and full service marketing.

Pruvot (above left) has accumulated more than 15 years of experience in the CPG industry, primarily in the alcoholic beverages and food sectors. She has previously worked for Asahi Canada, Sabmiller Canada, Danone and Molson Coors.

Traglia (above right) brings experience from the beverage and food sectors to Bel Group with a specialty in innovation, strategy and consumer research.

She has been promoted to the director position after five years at Bel Group and will continue to oversee innovation and strategic support for Boursin, Babybel, The Laughing Cow, and new addition Gogo SqueeZ.

Traglia also has experience at Keurig Dr Pepper Canada in innovation and at Ipsos in research.
