Agency Moves: Diamond adds CD and group AD

Diamond makes a pair of hires

Independent creative agency Diamond has announced two hires, Sarah Deziel (above left) and Valerie Mascarin (above right).

Deziel joins as creative director on a team spearheaded by Diamond CCO Peter Ignazi, while Mascarin joins as group account director under managing director Lorri MacDonald.

Deziel is an award-winning creative leader of globally-recognized work with more than 15 years experience working on integrated advertising and marketing programs for clients such as MasterCard, Cadillac Fairview, Guinness, WestJet and Sobeys. She was most recently an associated creative director-copywriter with BBDO Canada. Prior, she was an associate creative director with Publicis, where she worked on brands such as

Mascarin has more than a decade of experience as a creative-first business lead. Her previous clients include SickKids and McDonald’s. Her role at Diamond is focuses on growing and shepherding the TD account.

Diamond’s recent client work includes Terry Fox Foundation, Humber River Health Foundation and Canadian Blood Services.

Berlin adds a CD

Alberta-based creative shop Berlin has appointed Pierre Chan as its new creative director.

Prior to joining Berlin, Chan held senior leadership positions at Cossette and One Twenty Three West. He also previously served as creative director at Canucks Sports and Entertainment.

Chan’s work has been recognized internationally by D&AD, Cannes, One Show, Clios, Webbys and Communication Arts. He has experience working on brands such as McDonald’s, Sleeman, PlayStation, Arc’teryx, Curling Canada, Destination BC, Tourism Yukon, British Columbia Lottery Corporation and the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Berlin, which is headquartered in Edmonton, has a client roster that includes the Alberta Cancer Foundation, City of Edmonton, Oilers Entertainment Group and Explore Edmonton, among others.

Faulhaber promotes VP into SVP and associate partner role

Faulhaber has promoted Megan Taylor from VP to SVP and associate partner after a period of rapid growth at the lifestyle PR and digital marketing agency.

During 12 years at Faulhaber, Taylor has helped shape the agency’s creative direction by providing clients with strategic counsel, according to a news release.

In her new role, Taylor will lead integrated teams tasked with delivering results and strong return on investment for Faulhaber’s roster of brands and continue to work on new business development and agency strategy.

Faulhaber welcomed five new clients in the first quarter, including Brand USA, L.L. Bean Canada, Bombas, The Well and Stone Eagle Winery.

1Milk2Sugars hires former HBC director of communications

Megan Menard has joined 1Milk2Sugars as a senior account director.

She was most recently Hudson Bay Company’s director of external communications, events and heritage.

Prior, she was senior manager of external communications, brands food and beauty for Loblaw and PR manager for President’s Choice. Menard served more than seven years at Loblaw.
