Jeff Greenspoon is moving on from Dentsu after close to 6 1/2 years to take on the role of CEO for the Americas at Kantar.
Greenspon will succeed Kantar chief client officer Wayne Levings, whose duties include leading the Americas business, and will report to CEO Chris Jansen on the group executive team when he officially joins the international market-research firm on Aug. 4.
“What drew me to Kantar is the unique mix of global intelligence, trusted marketing IP and the belief that great insights have the power to change everything,” Greenspoon said in a news release. “I’ve long admired Kantar’s ability to turn insight into brand and business impact and I’ve seen first-hand the high regard in which marketing leaders hold the business.”
Based out of Toronto, Greenspoon departs Dentsu having added the title of chief global client officer to his duties as the agency’s chief business officer of the Americas in February. He also served as president of global solutions, president and chief product officer and CEO of Canada during his time at Dentsu.
Greenspoon was also a co-founder and CEO of digital-creative firm Spoke, which was purchased by Dentsu in 2014.
The Western Ivey Business School graduate continues to hold an entrepreneur-in-residence role at the university.
At Kantar, Greenspoon will work with the firm’s strategists, consultants and analytics associates to help build out creative, media and brand strategies for some of the world’s largest advertisers, according to the release.
“His deep understanding of the marketing ecosystem, global client C-suite experience and proven track record of building high-performing teams make him a great fit for Kantar and our Americas business,” Jansen said. “His fresh perspectives and passion for growth make him a powerful addition to our executive team.”
Late last month, Dentsu Canada announced that Stephen Kiely was taking over as CEO after Patrick Hounsell stepped down from the role after less than five months.
And in April, Ari Elkouby became Dentsu Creative Canada’s new CCO, a position left vacant by Jordan Doucette’s departure to become CCO at McCann Worldgroup Canada last November.
