Marketer Moves: Rona promotes Catherine Laporte to C-suite marketing role

Catherine Laporte takes on CMO, digital officer title at Rona

Rona has promoted Catherine Laporte to the role of chief marketing and digital officer.

Before taking on C-suite responsibilities, Laporte was SVP of marketing and customer experience at the retailer.

She joined the home-reno company in 2018 as VP of e-commerce and has moved through increasingly senior marketing roles while overseeing campaign work for Rona and Lowe’s.

In recent years, she supported campaigns featuring a literal “half-ass” to champion quality work, a fan-ritual activation around the 2025 NHL playoffs and creative designed to unify DIYers and professionals.

Prior to her time at Rona, Laporte served as VP of marketing and e-commerce at DavidsTea.

Chocolate maker names interim head of marketing

Mona Alishah is starting a new position as interim head of marketing at Lindt & Sprüngli.

Alishah was most recently the Swiss chocolatier and confectionery company’s senior director of marketing for brand, communications and partnerships.

Alishah’s responsibilities at Lindt & Sprüngli Canada spanned 10 brands in areas including omnichannel communication development, global digital marketing strategy and campaign launches and lead strategic duties on sponsorships and partnerships.

On the agency side, Alishah has served as an account executive at TBWA\Canada and as a senior account manager for digital at Cossette.

Maura Cowan, who had led marketing for Lindt & Sprungli Canada for nearly three years until last summer, was named VP of marketing at Corby in January.

She helped shape Lindt’s Easter strategy by giving chocolate bunnies a boost with AR and supporting the rollout of a purpose-driven bar to benefit food-insecurity brand Second Harvest.

Endy hires director of brand

Michael Brathwaite has joined Endy as the sleep retailer’s director of brand. Before joining the Sleep Country-owned company, he was a brand director with telemedicine platform Felix Health.

At Felix, Brathwaite helped develop and implement the brand’s first-ever integrated marketing campaign through multi-channel strategies across TV, audio, digital and print.

Prior, he held the role of senior brand director for proptech startup Properly.

Agency side, Brathwaite has served as an account director for Zulu Alpha Kilo and as a business director for Dentsu’s Grip.
