Publicis Montreal appoints former Sid Lee creative as CCO
Publicis Montreal has named Jean-François Dumais as CCO.
Dumais accumulated nearly 20 years of experience at Sid Lee, where he began his career in May 2006 as a designer and rose through the ranks to become EVP, head of creative in January 2024. He departed Sid Lee in February.
At Sid Lee, Dumais contributed to the Adidas Originals “House Party” campaign featuring David Beckham and Missy Elliott and played a leadership role in North Face’s “Question Madness” campaign featuring rock climber Alex Honnold. He also worked on the “Vitrines” project for National Bank, which aimed to revitalize vacant retail spaces, and assisted Molson Export’s efforts to put the shine back on depanneurs.
More recently, he spearheaded a brand and apparel launch paying tribute to legendary Canadian driver Gilles Villeneuve ahead of last month’s Formula One Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
“[Dumais] is an exceptional creative who embodies ambition, kindness and vision,” said Camille Fortier-Jordan, EVP and managing director at Publicis Montreal. “He challenges conventions while instilling confidence in his teams.”
Francesco Grandi no longer Ogilvy Canada CCO
Ogilvy has confirmed that CCO Francesco Grandi is no longer with the agency.
In a statement to strategy, the shop said it is grateful for Grandi’s tenure as CCO of Ogilvy Canada over the past three years and is planning to share details on its creative leadership team in the near future.
Grandi’s campaign work includes giving hens some time off last Canada Day for Hellmann’s and launching Ogilvy Canada’s AOR relationship with H&R Block after the agency secured the tax brand’s remit early last year.
Prior to taking on Canadian CCO duties, Grandi served as global creative director for Ogilvy U.K. where he was global lead on Dove Masterbrand and Comfort.
In previous creative director roles based out of London, England, Grandi served with Saatchi & Saatchi U.K., R/GA and The Martin Agency.
