Citizen Relations names new member to its executive team

Sue Jackman has moved into the role EVP of marketing and growth at Citizens Relations.

As VP of marketing, Jackman led Citizen’s marketing and brand strategy across all markets, including the global rebranding of the agency in 2022, and was responsible for the agency’s events, awards, sponsorship and content strategy across all channels.

Brand-side, Jackman was director of marketing and communications with Intact for six years and served as Accenture’s global marketing director of brand and content development in the U.K. and as senior marketing manager with L’Oréal in the U.K.

Earlier this month, Lindsay Page was named EVP, head of strategy as Citizens Relations announced a number of hires and promotions. In January, Citizen Relations secured Nespresso Canada’s AOR business.

Digital agency Bloom announces VP of social and creative

Montreal-based digital-performance marketing agency Bloom has named Rachelle Houde-Simard as its VP of social and creative.

Houde-Simard joined the firm as a director of creative content and social media on a part-time contract in April.

In her new role, Houde-Simard will oversee social media, influencer marketing and creative teams, with a focus on building out an integrated, authentic and performance-driven model, according to a news release. She will also be in charge of implementing Bloom’s artificial-intelligence integration plan.

She brings more than two decades of experience to Bloom, which was founded in 2007 and employs more than 80 people at its offices in Montreal, Toronto and Boston.

In the past, Houde-Simard held a director of strategic planning position at Tam-Tam\TBWA and a digital strategy and senior project lead role at Tux Creative in Montreal.

Weber Shandwick makes a promotion

Maria-Gabriela Garcia-Rousiouk has been promoted to media relations manager at Weber Shandwick, based in Montreal.

She joined the agency in October 2023 as a senior associate for media relations.

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Garcia-Rousiouk spent close to two years at EGS Group PR as a public relations and communications co-ordinator and an account executive.
