
Maple Leaf Foods appoints longtime CPG marketer as director of brand growth
Brittany Chopra (Satey) is starting a new position as marketing director, brand growth at Maple Leaf Foods.
Chopra was previously senior brand leader for pain care at Kenvue for Motrin and Tylenol, working on campaigns like the latter’s “Rise strong from the pain,” addressing disappointed fanbases of Canadian NHL teams.
Chopra has also served as Hershey Canada’s head of everyday chocolate and senior member of the CPG’s marketing leadership team. She also served as senior marketing manager, Hershey’s megabrand and Chipits, supporting efforts to rekindle interest in Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme chocolate and activations for Hershey around International Women’s Day and making Canadian women more visible.
Prior to that, Chopra held brand manager and associate brand manager roles with Campbell’s and Kraft Foods, respectively. She has also served as a CMA Awards judge.
This month, Maple Leaf Foods made the news when it unveiled its South Asian frozen brand, Musafir.
CIBC Mellon appoints senior product marketer
Rosy Guan has joined CIBC Mellon as a product marketing director.
In a LinkedIn post, Guan said she was “impressed by the team’s clarity of purpose, culture of collaboration, and commitment to innovation.” She comes to the role from Richmond Hill, Ontario-based software firm, Modern Requirements, where she served as director of marketing.
U of C appoints marketing and comms lead
Alexandra Larsen is starting a new position as director, communications and marketing at University of Calgary.
Larsen is a former VP of marketing for real estate operator, Avenue Living, joining the Calgary office as a strategist in 2020. Prior to that, she was the marketing manager for Tourism Canmore Kananaskis. On the agency side, Larsen served in strategic roles with Edmonton’s full-service shop Zag Creative.
SC Johnson adds marketing manager
Laura Kiteley-Brown is starting a new position as marketing manager at SC Johnson Professional Canada.
Kiteley-Brown was most recently marketing and communications manager for the Ontario Hockey Federation and, prior to that, spent nearly four-and-a-half years as channel marketing manager with 3M Canada after a stint as 3M Canada Health Care’s strategic digital marketing and communications leader.
