Julian Clopet will step down at the end of the year as president of Ogilvy & Mather North America, a post held for more than two years, but will stay on as a consultant.

Before moving to New York, Clopet was chief executive officer of o&m in Toronto. He has been with o&m for more than 25 years.

Clopet’s position as regional manager was eliminated when o&m Chairman Charlotte Beers recently announced the formation of a self-governing board of directors. The restructuring means that office heads in Canada and the u.s. will now report directly to Beers.

è Michel Lopez and Pierre Drouin have left the Montreal agency they helped form and will rejoin the creative department of BCP Strategy Creativity mid-month.

Five years ago, Lopez and Drouin left bcp to form Foug with Pierre Audet, Foug president.

The team is known for campaigns for clients such as Ikea, Participaction and Volkswagen.

An international flavor has been added to bcp with the hiring of Pascal Hierholz and Andre Marois, a creative team from Paris.

They have worked for clients such as Panasonic and Renault.

è Kerry Rubie is moving to Chicago as chairman of Leo Burnett International, a division of Leo Burnett Worldwide.

Rubie joined Leo Burnett, Toronto, in 1964, and was named president in 1979.

He has been managing director for Leo Burnett/Asia and, since 1988, has been based in London as chairman and regional managing director for the multinational agency’s Europe/ Middle East network comprised of 24 offices in 22 countries.

è Philip Kung has joined Can-Asian Advertising in Toronto as vice-president with a mandate to develop new business and guide the client service team.

Previously Kung was director of marketing for the Gemini Group, a Toronto company that provides automated reservation and distribution services to the travel industry.

Winnie Har has joined Can-Asian as account director. She has eight years of client service and media experience.

è Isobel Moutrey has signed on as senior art director at Miller Myers Bruce DallaCosta, Toronto.

Moutrey will work on accounts such as Canadian Gas Association and Ault Foods.

Moutrey is again paired with writer Ron Thomson. The two were a creative team at their previous agency, Vickers & Benson.

Writer Andrea Usher Jones is another new addition to the mmbd team.

Most recently with Saffer Advertising, Jones will be putting her skills to work for accounts such as Ault Foods, London Life and Mediacom.

è Pierre Gince has moved to Groupe Everest public relations of Montreal as senior consultant.

Gince has chalked up 15 years in the public relations field with two other Montreal communications firms, bdds and Optimum.

è James Sherbanuk has been appointed vice-president, marketing and program development for the Retail Network Programming Group.

The group provides in-store multi-media, including in-store radio, video and interactive displays.
