Agency Moves: ChangeMakers hires growth VP, Ogilvy names strategy director

New VP starts on at ChangeMakers

ChangeMakers has appointed Boris Cho as its VP of growth to lead expansion strategy and client engagement across the national portfolio for the agency.

Before joining ChangeMakers, Cho held leadership roles at IPG, Group M and, most recently, at Dentsu Media, where he served as growth director for more than 2 1/2 years starting in October 2022.

Cho specializes in client and business strategy, brand and performance marketing, business development, account management and cultivating strategic partnerships.

He also joined NABS’ national board of directors as co-chair this past January

Ogilvy Canada appoints a strategy director

Maddie Pace is moving into a new role as strategy director at Ogilvy Canada after serving as a senior strategist for more than three years at the Toronto-based shop.

In her former role, Pace worked on the TD Bank and Mastercard accounts.

A former strategist with Sid Lee, Pace supported campaigns for a roster of brands, including H&R Block, PC Optimum, PC Financial and Maple Leaf Foods.

On the buy side, Pace was a senior media planner with Wavemaker Canada where she managed 360-degreee media planning and buying responsibilities on the Molson Coors account and for Kärcher, a household cleaning brand.

Sid Lee promotes a CD

Alex Bird has been promoted to creative director at Sid Lee.

Bird, who has served with Sid Lee for seven years, was most recently ACD. Prior, he was a senior copywriter with Rethink, based in Vancouver.

Bird has worked on campaign such as “Natural Negotiators” for Maple Leaf Foods, “Ultimate Product Demo” for Bissell, “Easy Tips” for Canadian Men’s Health and “Anglerfish” for the Vancouver Aquarium.

Wieden+Kennedy Toronto brings aboard Underscore Studios ACD

Cyril Edet has joined Wieden+Kennedy

Previously, Edet served as an associate creative director with full-service production company Underscore Studios in Toronto, where he worked on project management and the overall creative direction of production and content management of the shop’s in-house publication.

Last month, Wieden+Kennedy Toronto added ex-Rethink group creative directors Caroline Friesen and Robbie Percy as executive creative directors at its Toronto office.
