Cheil Canada has hired Mark Ferris to take on the role of director, retail experience, and Vivian Gagliano to step in as director, integrated solutions.
Ferris, who has worked on programs for major retailers such as Walmart and Loblaw, heads over to the agency from Coca-Cola, where he worked for the past five years and led portfolios such as Coca-Cola and Diet Coke, according to a release from Cheil.
Gagliano previously held the role of VP, measurement for FlipGive, has developed digital platforms while in senior positions at Syncapse and Critical Mass, and has also led a United Nations initiative to implement media for the first parliamentary elections in Afghanistan.
Both new directors will be responsible for overseeing existing teams. Ferris will assume this role for the retail team and be tasked with enlarging the co’s retail portfolio, according to the release. He will report to Matt Cammaert, president, Cheil Canada, and work with recently-hired Lindsay Prajza, VP, director of client services.
Gagliano will oversee the digital team and bolster Cheil’s digital portfolio. Focused on social and digital planning, she will work with Kathleen Collins, VP, integrated solutions.
“Mark [Ferris] and Vivian [Gagliano] represent the continued transformation of Cheil Canada,” Cammaert said in a statement. “As our roster grows and we are invited to more and more pitches, it is crucial that we walk the walk and demonstrate our knowledge across the spectrum of communications and brand experience. While many agencies are faking their way through retail and digital, we are putting our money where our mouths are.”
