Berlin Communications wins Best in Show at 2024 ACE Awards

Edmonton-based ad agency Berlin Communications won big at this year’s ACE Awards, picking up 17 trophies including Best in Show.

Berlin Communications won the awards for its campaign for Confetti Fridays, a free summer event series created to celebrate diversity and inclusion, and restore vibrancy in downtown Edmonton. The series was launched during Pride Month 2023, and hosted by Alberta’s first openly gay city councillor Michael Phair, and was co-organized and produced by Phair and the Downtown Edmonton Community League.

Marketing for the series was inspired by a colourful mural that gave the series its name, as well as the Pride flag and Phair’s own personal style.

The 45th annual ACE Awards were held in Edmonton on April 27. More than 300 entries were submitted for the awards this year. Berlin Communications’ Best in Show win is the second time in the past four years it’s picked up this award.

ZGM Modern Marketing Partners, DDB Canada and Sticks & Stones were also big winners picking up several awards for creative work on Saturday. A full list of ACE Award winners can be found on its website. The awards are organized by the Advertising Club of Edmonton.
