As part of its continuing efforts to introduce its fast food outlets in non-traditional locations, Harvey’s Restaurants has opened a new restaurant at Toronto’s downtown passenger train depot, Union Station.
Graham Peterson, Harvey’s director of marketing, says the outlet, opened two weeks ago in the station’s main departure area, has been successful in attracting train travellers as well as workers from nearby office towers.
Harvey’s has also announced plans to establish restaurants at two Mississauga, Ont. school campuses, Erindale Campus and Sheridan College.
Harvey’s parent company, Cara Operations, already operates food kiosks under its Beaver Foods banner on the campuses.
Peterson says Harvey’s will brand the existing kiosks with its own name and products.
Harvey’s already operates restaurants in several shopping mall food courts, as well as at Calgary International Airport.
Recently, the company announced plans to offer several of its products as children’s meals aboard Air Canada flights.
