JWT creative heads

Derek Chapman and Bill Martin have been named co-creative directors of the Toronto office of J. Walter Thompson.

Martin rejoined jwt recently after a stint as creative director of Bozell Palmer Bonner.

He had been a copywriter with jwt in the early 1980s, working mostly on the Labatt Breweries account.

U.K.-born Chapman has been with jwt since 1985, and before that was with Leo Burnett, Young and Rubicam and McKim Advertising.

He started his career in Canada with Cockfield Brown.

Chapman’s most recent work was the relaunch of Labatt’s Blue brand using the ‘Blues’ slogan.

As co-creative directors, Chapman and Martin will be responsible for the creative product out of the Toronto office.
