First In Line Advertising, of Toronto, established in 1989, has changed its name to Germain Communications.

Address, phone and fax numbers remain the same.

Marie Germain, president and creative director of the retail agency, says the new name reflects company ownership and range of services.

The shop bills itself as ‘The creative answer to retail’ because it is headed by two creative people, Germain and Associate Creative Director David Eddy.

– Spectrum Marketing, of Vancouver, has moved four stories above its old offices to Suite 501.

The telephone and street address remain the same, but the new fax number is (604) 682-1500.

– The 3rd Annual Lotus Awards honoring advertising excellence in b.c. will be held Nov. 26 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.

Proceeds will go to the National Advertising Benevolent Society West.

There are awards in 37 categories, nine exclusively for creative work published or broadcast in b.c. only.

– Allard/SMW of Montreal recently picked up the Studio Magazine Silver Award for best art direction for its Benjamin Moore paints 1992 advertising campaign.

The compaign, which consists of outdoor board, magazine ads and point-of-purchase, launched last April.

– Barrow Communications, of Guelph, Ont., has received the Silver Leaf Award of Merit for its public relations work for The Sleeman Brewing and Malting Co., also of Guelph.

The Silver Leaf Awards are co-ordinated by the International Association of Business Communicators.

– Context Marketing Communications of Toronto has joined the Marketing Communications Network, an association of 15 North American advertising and public relations agencies.

Context is the sole Canadian affiliate of the group.

– Greg Cochrane, chairman and chief executive officer of Toronto-based marketing and sales communications company, The Mariposa Group, has been named chairman of the board of directors, Junior Achievement of Metropolitan Toronto and York Region.
