Source Montclair, a division of The Perrier Group of Canada, has introduced a new line of natural, fruit-flavored beverages, Montclair Sparkling Beverage.

The line is based on Montclair’s carbonated spring water product, Sparkling Spring Water. It is available in four flavors: cherry, raspberry, blackberry and peach.

Sparkling Beverage is being distributed in supermarkets, convenience stores and specialty stores and is packaged in 325-millilitre blue glass bottles.

- Honda Canada has ended its sponsorship of the once-successful, grassroots racing series, the Honda/Michelin Championship.

Toronto-based Honda initiated the annual series, which featured identical Honda Civic hatchbacks in parallel series in eastern and western Canada in 1975.

The cancellation is being blamed, in large part, on the lingering recession.

Luc Tessier, director of marketing for Michelin Tire, says the cancellation came as a surprise to Michelin, which has co-sponsored the series for the past 11 years.

Terrier says the Dorval, Que.-based manufacturer is on the lookout for a replacement sponsorship event for the Michelin brand.

- The Landmark Group, a Toronto sports marketing agency, recently brokered three-year corporate sponsorship agreements for a trio of high-profile Canadian athletes.

- Unitel Communications has signed Olympic bronze-medal rower Silken Laumann as a spokesperson. As part of the agreement, she will make a number of appearances on behalf of the company.

- Midland Walwyn has signed Olympic gold medal skier Kerrin Lee-Gartner as a spokesperson. Lee-Gartner will also wear Midland’s company logo on her ski headgear during ski competitions.

- Joni Fashions of Canada has developed a clothing line called the ‘Dawn Coe’ collection. Coe, who competes in the lpga, is one of Canada’s leading female golfers. The agreement gives Joni the right to use Coe in advertising and promotions for the new clothing line.

- Cadillac Fairview has struck a deal with Chrysler Canada that will see the automaker showcase its new lh cars in 47 Cadillac Fairview shopping centres across Canada.

Slated to run Nov. 23 to Dec. 20, the Chrysler promotion marks a breakthrough for Cadillac Fairview, which is trying to convince national advertisers to use its malls as a national interactive marketing medium.

- Hiram Walker & Sons has revamped the packaging of its popular Canadian Club whisky.

The new look, created by Landor Associates of San Francisco, includes subtle changes to the label graphics, neck wrap and bottle shape.

The changes are intended to revitalize the product by giving it a more up-to-date appearance.

- Kellogg Canada celebrated the Toronto Blue Jays’ success in the 1992 World Series by producing 200,000 limited edition packages of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes.

Kellogg Canada and Kellogg USA are the official cereal sponsors of Major League Baseball.

- KFC Canada carried out the largest coupon drop in its history between Oct. 25-31 as part of a fundraising drive for the Block Parent Program of Canada. KFC became a Block Parent sponsor two years ago.

For every coupon redeemed, KFC will donate 25 cents to Block Parents.
