è Effective Nov. 1, management recruiter Greg McKinnon established a new recruiting firm, The McKinnon Management Group.

McKinnon began his career as a recruiter five years ago with Advanced Alternatives.

The new operation, based in North York, Ont., is a full-service management search firm, specializing in sales, marketing and marketing communications.

McKinnon says he believes now is a good time to launch a recruiting firm, adding that while the economy has yet to fully rebound he believes ‘there is a turnaround taking place in the market.’

In addition, he says there is always a need to fill positions in specialized segments of the marketing industry, ‘particularly in below-the-line marketing.’

Encore Tickets was formed to sell admission tickets for theatrical, musical and sports productions and to provide related services designed to assist clients in their marketing activities.

Encore uses a software package called Prolouge, which is produced by Prolouge Systems of Madison, Wisc. Encore has exclusive rights to use Prolouge in b.c. and Alberta.

Current Encore clients are Promo Adventures, the Fend Players Society, Punch Lines Comedy Theatre and Keith Lawrence Symphony Sessions.

The firm, which began selling tickets in October, is headed by Michael Kelly, a Vancouver native whose career includes marketing and sales experience with Ticketmaster Canada, Woodward’s and bc tel.

Kelly says the strength of the Prolouge software package is that it can quickly generate ‘pin-point marketing information,’ about the people buying tickets for a particular show.
