Air Canada/CIBC venture

Air Canada and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce have launched a membership drive for the two-year-old CIBC Aerogold Visa Card.

Under the terms of the program, which runs Dec. 30 to Jan. 15, new cardholders will receive 5,000 Aeroplan bonus miles, instead of the usual 1,500.

New cardholders who were not previously Aeroplan members will receive an additional 4,000 Aeroplan bonus miles if they fly within 45 days of enrolment.

As an added incentive for potential cardholders to sign up during the membership drive, the names of all successful applicants will be entered in a draw, to be held Feb. 11.

The grand prize winner of the draw will pick up a pair of business class tickets flying anywhere in the world on Air Canada and Cathay Pacific and $2,000 in spending money.
