Toronto singles get new tabloid

A new paper that targets the considerable singles market in the greater Toronto area is set for its official launch mid-April.

Barry Brown, publisher/editor of Singles, The Voice of Today’s Singles, says the launch of the monthly tabloid will be tied in to a singles trade show and singles dance, both at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Brown says there are a ‘few’ investors, himself included, behind Singles, which will be distributed free at 2,200 better restaurants, book and record stores, health clubs, bars and sports venues in the greater Toronto area.

He says the paper will also be on offer through paid subscription, although the price has yet to be confirmed.

According to Brown, the first issue should have between 24 and 32 pages, and be printed on high quality, low-rub ink newsprint.

The first issue will be available in early April in advance of the official launch.

Brown says it will have a circulation of 50,000 and more than 200,000 readers. A one-time, full page four-color ad costs $3,300. A one-time, black-and-white, full-page ad costs $2,500. DC
