Montreal: The winners of Mediacom’s 12th annual l’Affiche d’Or Awards were unveiled at a gala invitation-only reception on April 28 at the Spectrum de Montreal.

The awards, to recognize excellence in outdoor advertising in the French-language market, drew 450 advertising and marketing executives.

This year’s gold winners are:

- Campaign category – client: La Brasserie Labatt; designs: ‘Prochaine sortie .5 km, Voyez double, 30 dehors, .5 dedans;’ agency: PALM Publicite Marketing; copywriters: Martin Gosselin, Daniel Poirier; art directors: Gilles Paquette, Daniele Laporte.

- Horizontal category – client: Coca-Cola; design: ‘Celebrons Montreal;’ Agency: Marketel; copywriter: Chantal Joly; art director: Luc Perreault.

- Vertical category – client: Black Label; design: ‘Bouteille a la fenetre;’ agency: BCP Strategy-Creativity; copywriter: Alain Bourgeois; art director: Rene-Michel Vachon.

- Spectacular category – client: La Brasserie Labatt; design: ‘Budweiser – Coulee dans le rock – guitare;’ agency: Young & Rubicam; copywriter: Richard Nadeau; art director: Steve Gagnon.

This year’s craft award for innovation went to Robert Valois, of Engeignes Laval, for the Coca-Cola – Celebrons Montreal transit shelter roof, which gave the illusion of a Coke can.

The 1993 Hall of Fame inductees are copywriter Andy Strote and art director Paul Fiala for the McKim Advertising poster ‘Cooper – glove.’
