P. lawson Travel has named Genesis Media of Toronto as agency of record for its national chain of P. Lawson Travel outlets, Voyages Belair in Quebec, and Harvey’s Travel in Atlantic Canada.

According to A.C. Nielsen Measurement Services, the company’s media spending was $3.5 million in 1992.

è National Public Relations has created a new division called National-PME (petites et moyennes entreprises) to provide small and medium-sized organizations with pr, promotion, advertising and graphic design services.

The new division will be headed by Claude Rochon as general manager. Rochon, a National vice-president, has been with the firm since 1985.

è A promo for Toronto radio station chum-fm received the gold medal at The New York Festivals International Radio Awards June 10 in New York.

The winning promo, ‘George Carlin – Funny,’ featured comedian George Carlin. A second chum promo, ‘All Classic Saturday,’ received a silver award in the program promotion category.

è Scali McCabe Sloves in Vancouver raised $12,550 for the B.C. Children’s Hospital at its annual in-house auction, held this year on May 28.

Clients, suppliers and others provided the items to be auctioned and participated as buyers.

The cheque was presented to the hospital on June during the Children’s Miracle Telethon on U.TV.
