- United Media Canada and cable service ytv begin a national television collaboration next month featuring the Fido Dido character promoting a self-confidence message to children and teenagers.

The four-week campaign starts Aug. 10 and runs during the ytv PJ After School Zone slot. It will reinforce the Fido Dido credo which encourages the under-age set to be themselves; to be wise but not judgemental and to try to maintain a sense of humor.

As well as the credo, the spots will promote Fido Dido merchandise.

ytv’s pjs (on-air hosts) will ask viewers to send in the most ‘Fido-Didoish thing they ever did or saw.’

- Get in the car, Rover.

Pet owners will soon be able to take their favorite critters with them thanks to ‘Travelling with Your Pet,’ a 132-page annual which will list hotels and motels in Canada that will accept animals.

It will also offer advice on the dos and don’ts of animal etiquette while in a hotel or motel.

‘Travelling with Your Pet’ will be published by Patrick Communications of Toronto.

The annual will have a 30,000-copy newsstand distribution, with additional copies going to pet stores and vets.

There is no word yet if the hotels and motels listed will accept anything more than a pooch or a pussycat.
