Gerry Graham has left Unitel Communications, where he had held the post of senior vice-president of marketing.

Unitel will not hire a replacement for Graham, who resigned effective June 16.

Rather, the firm will divide his responsibilities between Hal Berndt, vice-president of market planning and strategy, and Bob Burrows, vice-president of product marketing.

-Toronto-based Royal Trust has named Arnold Stoller as its new head of marketing.

Stoller, whose title becomes managing partner, marketing, spent the past two and a half years as managing partner of group benefits and fund administration operations.

Stoller replaces Samuel Cukierman, who vacated the post earlier in the year to become vice-president of marketing at Toronto-based Cantel.

- McCormick Canada has appointed Brian Gidlow as vice-president of sales and marketing.

Gidlow replaces David Burns, who has been named vice-president of business development.

Gidlow has been working as a marketing consultant for the past six months. Previously, he was employed by Johnson & Johnson.

- Federal Express has recognized the work of two of its marketers with recent promotions.

Kathi Pinard has gone from manager of regional marketing for Canada to managing director of marketing, responsible for all national programs including market research and new product implementation.

As well, Cathy Hepburn-Schroeder has gone from senior marketing specialist to manager of advertising and direct marketing.

- Xillix Technologies of Vancouver has named Diana Ferrier, formerly promotions director with Century 21 Real Estate Canada, also of Vancouver, as its new manager of marketing services.

- Brights Wines of Niagara Falls, Ont. has named Bruce D. Walker as vice-president and general manager for Western Canada.

Walker, who will be based in New Westminister, b.c., was previously director of marketing for regional brands with Labatt Breweries of Canada.

- cbc has appointed Gaye McDonald, formerly director of event marketing with Toronto’s Grey Advertising, as account executive in its corporate sponsorships department.

- Jumbo Video recently announced several appointments and promotions within its marketing department.

Kevin Nullmeyer has been promoted from director of marketing to vice-president of marketing.

Paul McAleese, who started his career with Carling O’Keefe Breweries and has been with Jumbo for four years, has been promoted from marketing manager to senior marketing manager.

Jan Findlay joins Jumbo from The Second Cup chain, becoming marketing manager.

Jill Karasiuk has gone from marketing assistant to assistant marketing manager.

Kelly Sloggett has joined the firm as merchandising co-ordinator.

Richard Leclerc has left Groupe Everest of Montreal after eight years.

Leclerc has moved from his post of vice-president, creative director to become president of the Publicite-Club de Montreal. He is also consultant to the Radio-Canada tv series, Les Fous de la pub.

Groupe Everest has three remaining creative directors and will be looking for a replacement for Leclerc in the fall.

- Harry Wakefield has joined Taxi – The Advertising Agency of Montreal as director, client services.

Wakefield was most recently vice-president of marketing for voice mail and audiotex system manufacturer, Groupe Cerveau.

- Cohn & Wolfe/Canada has promoted Carol Panasiuk from assistant manager to general manager/ Toronto.

Panasiuk has 12 years of public relations experience and has been with Cohn & Wolfe since it began Canadian operations in 1989.

Media

Raymond Duguay is the new chief of marketing development at Radio-Canada.

Before joining Radio-Canada, Duguay was director of research for Quatre Saisons Television.
