The Toronto Chapter of the American Marketing Association (TAMA) has announced the nominations for its annual Marketer of the Year Award.

The award, which was first presented in 1979, is considered one of the most prestigious business awards in Canada.

Nominees were short-listed in three categories.

Services:

Michael Budman and Don Green, co-owners of Roots Canada; Kevin Shea, president, YTV Canada; and Gerald Good, chairman and chief executive officer, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Company of Canada.

Business-to-business:

Richard Padulo, president and ceo, Padulo Advertising; Craig Hall Underwood, president, Loyalty Management Group Canada; Rupert Brendon, chairman and ceo, DMB&B Canada.

Packaged goods:

Arthur Soler, president, Neilson Cadbury; Brian Hickey, president and ceo, Harlequin Enterprises; Donald Ziraldo, president, Inniskillin Wines and chairman of the Vintners Quality Assurance.

tama is in the process of assembling a team of senior marketing professionals to choose winners from each of the three categories and an overall Marketer of the Year winner.

The award will be presented at a dinner reception Sept. 30 at the Ontario Science Centre in Don Mills, Ont. PA
