For the record…

there has been an outbreak of espionage at ytv, the children’s cable service.

It started Aug. 23 with ‘Spy Code Y,’ an interactive network tune-in promotion using concealed words and decoders.

Youngsters who decode the secret message, ‘ytv is —, —, and —‘ could win one of five trips for four on USAir to Universal Studios in California or Florida.

This contest is not open to children who live in Quebec.

Spy Code Y decoders can be picked up at participating Pizza Hut dine-in restaurants. No purchase is necessary. The restaurants will have tent cards explaining how the decoder works.

From Sept. 13-26, three encoded words will appear during ytv’s Catwalk, 28:48, Video and Arcade Top 10 and The Hit List with Tarzan Dan.

When the encoded word appears on the screen, children look through the decoder to decode it.

è The Toronto Blue Jays and The Sports Network will remain an item through the 1996 baseball season.

They recently signed a deal making tsn the exclusive cable tv broadcaster of Blue Jays baseball.

The announcing crew remains the same. Jim Hughson will call the play-by-play, and former Blue Jay catcher Buck Martinez is the analyst.
