Two of the men who founded Miller Myers Bruce DallaCosta of Toronto nearly 11 years ago, Chairman Marty Myers and Dennis Bruce, chairman, director of creative planning, will be leaving at the end of the year.
Effective Jan. 1, President Stan McIntee will take over as chairman and chief executive officer, and Mike Smith, now senior vice-president and creative director, will become president and creative director.
Chris McAnerney, senior account director at the agency for the past seven years, has been promoted to director of creative planning.
Myers and Bruce started to make plans to leave earlier this year after The Lopex Group of London, which bought a minority interest in the agency four years ago, exercised its option to buy the balance of the company this past February.
Lopex, a holding company that operates 30 communication companies in 11 countries including the Alliance International network of 11 agencies, is expected to eventually change the agency’s name to MMBD Alliance.
Myers and Bruce have plans to write a book together and will both continue to lecture and do freelance writing and consulting.
