Canadians copped three awards at the International Advertising Awards in Cannes this year: one gold, one silver and one bronze.

The gold award went to Judy John for an ad she created through her agency Two Cities Advertising for Toronto’s Keen Music Voice and Sound Design in the press and poster category.

Taking silver was Taxi Advertising/Design for its Dennis the Menace Murad sign for ytv.

Winning bronze in the film category was Michael O’Reilly, with a public service announcement for cystic fibrosis.

Although they did not win, entries from Chiat/Day, Young & Rubicam, Leo Burnett Advertising, DDB Needham and MacLaren:Lintas were all finalists.

Only 12 Canadians made the trip to Cannes for the awards, held last month, compared with much stronger ad industry contingents from other countries.
