GEE Jeffery & Partners has picked up more business from Rogers Cantel.

The Toronto agency will be handling the Christmas campaign for Amigo, the low-cost phone and services packages launched last month by Cantel through its primary agency, Vickers & Benson.

This past May, Gee Jeffery introduced VoiceCommand service for Cantel using newspaper, busboards and radio advertising and the line, ‘You speak. It dials.’

At the time of Amigo’s launch, Kent Thexton, vice-president of marketing for Toronto-based Cantel, said the company planned to build Amigo as a brand.

But Thexton would not verify that another $8 million had been allotted to market Amigo on top of Cantel’s $8 million annual budget.

In addition to v&b and Publicite Martin of Montreal for French-language advertising, Cantel uses other agencies on a project basis and stages reviews for each project.
