Merisel Canada’s new president, Tom Reeves, is the former managing director of Merisel Europe, while the outgoing Canadian president, Susan Miller-Smith, is off to Europe to replace Reeves.

Reeves and Miller-Smith switched jobs effective Aug. 8.

Merisel is the world’s largest publicly traded wholesale distributor of computer hardware and software products and provider of reseller channel services.

- Ziebart has tapped Patricia Wiley as director of marketing for North American Ziebart TidyCar stores.

Wiley’s role in the newly created position will be to direct marketing strategy and brand position for all Ziebart products and services in the areas of automotive detailing, accessories and protection.

Before joining Ziebart, Wiley was a Michigan-based marketing consultant with a client list that included Hiram Walker & Sons, La-Z-Boy Chair and Weight Watchers.

Ziebart has 300 stores in the u.s., 100 in Canada and another 200 in 39 additional countries.

- Sears Canada has appointed Ronald MacInnes as vice-president, public relations and government affairs.

MacInnes, who has more than 25 years’ experience in public relations and the communications field, replaces Ross Rigney, the former corporate general manager of public affairs, who took early retirement.

- Quantum Book Group of Toronto named Kevin Hanson as director of sales and marketing, effective Aug. 15.

Hanson has more than nine years of experience in book publishing, most recently with Macmillan Canada, where he was manager of national and corporate accounts.
