Sony to stay in the race

Sony of Canada intends to continue its relationship with the Michelin Enduroseries car races through the 1995 season.

Bob MacDonald, vice-president, sales, of Sony’s consumer electronics group, says the Japanese-owned multinational will use the races to promote its Sony Handycams and Sony MiniDisc recorders.

Stephanie Dunn, from bmg in Montreal, promoter of the Enduroseries, says the Ontario- and Quebec-run races will be broadcast nationally on tsn and its French language counterpart, rds.

Dunn says the eight-event series is scheduled to run from late October to the end of December.

Other sponsors of the Enduroseries are Canadian Airlines International, First Brands (Canada), Itech Sports Products and SPX Automotive Diagnostics. DC
