For the record: Bridgestone safety deal

Bridgestone, the Mississauga, Ont.-based tire maker, has teamed up with Green & Ross Tire & Auto Centres and Toronto radio station Q107 to operate a special event vehicle promoting safe driving in the Ontario metropolis.

The Drive Decent Road Patrol will make daily visits to Green & Ross stores, report traffic conditions to the Q107 newsroom, help motorists in trouble and attend various community and sports events.

As well, 300,000 Q107 safe driving window decals will be distributed through Green & Ross stores.

The patrol began late last month and runs until Dec. 11.

Bridgestone/Firestone Canada is owned by Bridgestone/Firestone of Nashville, Tenn., and is a sponsor of the Toronto and Vancouver Molson Indy car races.
