Christopher Copp has joined the client services team at Weaver Tanner & Miller of Kitchener, Ont. as account manager.

Copp comes from five years with Fallon-McElligott of Minneapolis, where he supervised accounts such as Coca-Cola, Stroh Brewery, Ralston Purina, Jim Beam and the National Coalition for Cancer Research.

Copp has published three research papers on consumer behavior and his expertise in Generation X consumer advertising was key to Fallon-McElligott winning the new products business of Coca-Cola last year.

– Copywriter Simon Cameron has moved to Lanyon Phillips Brink of Vancouver and is working with art director Bill Downey.

Cameron comes from three years with Cossette Communication-Marketing in Montreal, where he worked on General Motors, Bell Canada and McDonald’s.

– Noni Rabinovitch will be managing the Campbell’s account and heading up new business development in her new role as vice-president group account director at Bates Canada, Toronto.

Rabinovitch joins Bates after a short-term contact assignment at Saffer Group.

Before Saffer, Rabinovitch held senior positions with Young & Rubicam and Scali McCabe Sloves, and, on the client side, was with Kraft General Foods’ marketing team.

– John Hilbrich, most recently managing director of Leo Burnett Denmark and Sweden, has joined Leo Burnett Canada as senior vice-president, client services director and member of the agency’s management committee.

Hilbrich will be responsible for the Bell Canada account.

He joined the Chicago office of Leo Burnett 11 years ago, and, after four years, moved to Germany as regional account director on Kellogg and United Distillers.

– Montreal business-to-business agency Sun Communications has added three members to its marketing strategy department.

Charles Desmarteau brings 14 years’ experience to his post of strategist, distribution network.

Denys Garneau, newly appointed strategist, marketing communications, has spent 15 years in marketing and promotion.

Denis Pilon, active in product development and merchandising for 15 years, has joined Sun as strategist, merchandising.

– Debra Spears has signed on with The Cohen Group of Richmond Hill, Ont. as copywriter.

Spears, most recently a freelance consultant, has worked as creative director, writer and production co-ordinator in retail advertising, real estate development, direct marketing and the cosmetics industry.
