The Toronto Star has tapped John Honderich to be its new publisher.

Honderich, who has been the newspaper’s editor for the past six years, replaces David Jolley, who resigned as publisher and president in June.

Honderich has held a number of key positions, including Washington bureau chief, business editor, with the Star since joining the paper in the mid-1970s.
