Pharma Plus Drugmart of Mississauga, Ont. has appointed Robert Bruce to the newly created position of vice-president, marketing.

(Pharma Plus previously combined its marketing and merchandising functions, but recently split them, creating the new position.)

Bruce, who received a master of science degree from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ont. and an mba from Queen’s University in Kingston, was previously a marketing executive with Pepsi-Cola Canada.

His new responsibilities include marketing, private label and strategic planning.

- Lotus Development Canada has appointed Lorna Rosenstein as general manager, effective immediately.

Rosenstein, a Montreal native, has held various positions with Lotus since joining the firm in 1987.

Most recently, she was North American support manager of the enterprise deployment services group.

In her new role, Rosenstein reports to Deborah Besemer, u.s.-based Lotus’ vice-president North & South American sales.

Jim Johnson has joined the Life Network as promotions manager.

Johnson comes to the new specialty tv service from ENERGY 108 FM, where he developed and co-managed station promotions.

Joining Johnson is Jennifer Anka, who becomes the Life Network’s marketing associate. Anka was an editorial assistant at cbc tv before joining the specialty channel, and has also been a magazine editor.

- Terri Perras has been promoted to director of sales and event promotions at ytv.

Perras joined Toronto-based ytv in 1990 on a six-month contract.

In her new capacity, Perras heads the start-up of ytv’s event marketing division.
