To take advantage of the growing strength of the hospitality industry in Western Canada, Toronto’s Ishcom Publications is launching a title in February.

James Paine, Ishcom’s director of special projects, will oversee the new tabloid magazine and another new Ishcom title, Ontario Restaurant News Buyers’ Directory.

Paine says, for 1995, Western Hospitality News will publish five times, February/March, April/ May, June/July, August/September and October/November/ December.

He says the tabloid’s publishing frequency may be increased, depending on its success.

The digest-sized Ontario Restaurant News Buyers’ Directory will be published annually.

Western Hospitality News will have a controlled circulation of 13,000 in b.c., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Paine says the first issue, due Feb. 5, will have at least 20 pages. It will be printed on coated stock.

He says Ishcom, which has a satellite office in Vancouver, will publish Western Hospitality News from Toronto for the time being, using reporters based in the West.

Ishcom also publishes Ontario Restaurant News, FoodMart News, Ontario Key Chains and Beer Connoisseur. DC
