In its December issue, Canadian Business has announced its inaugural ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award.

The first winner is Daniel Langlois, 37-year old founder of Montreal’s Softimage.

The Entrepreneur of the Year award was created in the u.s. in 1986 by Ernst & Young.

It was brought to Canada this year by Ernst & Young, the Bank of Montreal, Nesbitt Burns and Canadian Business.

Softimage designed the software that gave the world the velociraptors of Jurassic Park and the animation in The Mask, the movie starring Canadian-born Jim Carrey.
