Teleglobe Canada has tapped Serge Fortin as its new vice-president, world sales and marketing.

Fortin replaces Jan Czek, who has been transferred to vice-president, network, the post previously occupied by Fortin.

Before joining Teleglobe in September 1993, Fortin was vice-president and general manager, consumer and small business market at Stentor.

- David Strickland has been appointed director of consumer products for the Toronto Raptors.

The city’s new National Basketball Association franchise tips off next year.

Strickland, 33, will head the Raptors’ team apparel merchandising and retailing ventures. He will also be responsible for marketing research and database management.

Strickland has spent 10 years as a marketer, with Warner-Lambert Canada, Labatt Breweries of Canada and CTV Sports and News.

- Robert Logan has been appointed president, Canadian operations, for Interleaf Canada in Ottawa.

Logan will head the company’s strategic business development.

Interleaf supplies electronic publishing and document management software.

- Robert Hunter has resigned his position as president and chief executive officer of SkyDome in Toronto to become president and ceo of PROFAC Management in Ottawa.

Hunter took over the top job earlier this year from Richard Peddie, who moved on to a position with the Labatt empire.

Hunter had spent eight years with SkyDome.

Interim president is Jamie MacArthur.
