Molson Breweries has named Marilyn McCrea as manager, corporate communications, effective Dec. 19.

Among her duties, McCrea will fill in for Molson’s director, corporate communications Freda Colbourne, who will be off on maternity leave until the end of June.

Before joining Molson, McCrea, a former freelance print and tv broadcast journalist in Ottawa, spent two years with Toronto public relations firm Edelman Houston Group, where she was a senior consultant.

Before that, she held public relations posts with the Conference Board of Canada and the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

- Ramada Franchise Canada has appointed Cindy Kaye as director of marketing.

Kaye, who replaces former marketing director Peter Dhama, who has left the firm, was most recently employed in the domestic tourism department of the Ontario Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Recreation.

Before that, she worked at a number of ad agencies, including J. Walter Thompson and Vickers & Benson Advertising.

- Maybelline/Yardley has imported a member of its u.s. management team to head up its Canadian subsidiary.

Jim Heim is the new Canadian general manager, responsible for strategic planning, marketing and sales.

Heim replaces the previous general manager, Patrick Borg, who left the firm in August.

- Cara Operations has named Anne Therese Toutant as national advertising and promotions manager.

Toutant, who has previous experience on client and agency sides of the industry, was most recently an account supervisor with Padulo Integrated.

- The O’Keefe Centre for the Performing Arts has appointed Elizabeth Bradley as general manager.

Bradley – the first woman to head the 3,220-seat Metropolitian Toronto-owned theatre – has served as acting general manager since the July departure of former general manager Martin Onrot.

Before Onrot’s leaving, Bradley had been manager, programming development since 1991.
