Black Photo has penned a deal to buy the 103-store Astral Photo division of Montreal-based Astral Communications, giving the Fuji Photo Film Canada subsidiary a true national presence.
In May, Black’s hired Bensimon-Byrne of Toronto to handle its creative assignment and awarded Optimedia the media buying portion. The company’s ad spending in 1995 was less than $1.5 million, according to A.C. Nielsen figures.
Prisme Communications of Montreal has had the $2-million Astral Photo business for the past year.
