Organized Time, a Toronto-based company that distributes laminated wall calendars and organizers to university students, made its first foray south of the border this month – with the help of some big-name sponsors.
The company, started by former McGill University students Michael Rubinstein and Adam Sinai and now joined by University of Toronto student Warren Horwitz, has been handing out free sponsored calendars to post-secondary students across Canada during frosh week since 1994.
With the help of such sponsors as Bank of Montreal, Sprint Canada and Burger King – whose ads appear on the poster along with the school’s logo – Organized Time has increased its base of universities to 25 from eight, targeting a total of 100,000 students.
This year, Organized Time created Eastern u.s. editions of its poster for about 250,000 students from eight colleges and universities in and around Boston.
Sponsors of the American poster include Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Apple.
Next year, the company plans to expand further with a West Coast version of the calendar for university students in California.
