Royal LePage is set to relaunch its real estate Web site with the promise to go beyond information – to entertainment.
‘Because it’s an evolving technology, you have to keep your site on the forefront and interesting to people,’ says Don Kottick, director of new products and services for Royal LePage, promising there will be some ‘very futuristic stuff.’
The original site, launched last year, had a few kinks to work out, says Kottick. The new, fine-tuned site will include all of the listings across Canada with pictures or slide shows for most, he says. The only thing that won’t be included will be specific addresses.
The site was designed by an in-house team with the help of Toronto Web developer Leading Edge Software. It includes French and Chinese translations, he says.
The new site (www.royallepage.ca) will launch Sept. 24, just after LePage’s new infomercial, The Royal LePage Showcase of Homes, is set to air on multicultural television service cfmt in Toronto.
The tv show, which showcases homes using video rather than still photos, began running in Vanouver on bctv at the beginning of the month. A 30-sec. spot, created by Garneau Wurstlin Philp of Toronto, will run during the show, says Kottick.
The Web site will also be promoted on the company’s lawn signs.
Many of the company’s 140 corporate and 130 associate offices already have computer terminals to allow home buyers to peruse the properties on offer before trekking out to different sites, and Kottick expects more to do the same in the future.
