Telecommunications companies fared well at the 4th annual ccamma (Chinese Canadian Advertising, Marketing & Media Association) Advertising Creative Awards, held June 1 in Richmond Hill, Ont., just north of Toronto.
Only two categories of the 13 (not including adaptations) did not include any winners from the telecommunications industry.
Bell, and its Chinese creative agency LLT Advertising Canada, won gold for best tv spot while BC Tel won gold for half-page newspaper. Bell/BC Tel also won gold for best radio spot.
Pacific Century Group, developer of the downtown Toronto condominium project Pavilions at King’s Landing, also came out on top with three golds. With its agency Prime Advertising, Pacific Century won golds for its print campaign, its multi-media campaign and its newspaper advertising full page or larger.
For the record, the two categories that did not include telecom winners were less than half-page newspaper (where gold was awarded to the ccamma itself and its agency Dynasty Advertising International) and best business video (where Tridel Corporation, with agency Dynasty Advertising, took top honors).
