Sprint calls up Krupski

Sprint Canada has named Andy Krupski, former president and CEO of Grey Canada – Sprint’s agency of record – as president of its residential, small-office/home-office division.

Krupski, who resigned from Grey in February, citing personal reasons, is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the telco’s long distance, Internet and local services for the residential and SOHO market.

Krupski says he was approached to take the newly created position because of his marketing background, his knowledge of the telco market – which he gained while working on Sprint’s business at Grey – as well as the good working relationship he developed with key executives at Call Net, Sprint Canada’s parent company.

‘This is an extremely competitive category and marketing is the key to growing in it,’ he says.

Krupski heads one of the fastest-growing areas of Sprint’s business, with the company having just announced it would begin marketing local calling services to residents of Vancouver and Richmond, B.C. Sprint launched its local service in Calgary six months ago, bundling it with its long distance service.
