Stuart MacDonald has been named general manager of Toronto-based travel Web site Expedia.ca. Prior to joining Expedia, MacDonald headed online initiatives at Signature Vacations, a national tour operator. Before that, he held various senior management positions at the Rider-BTI Travel Group, a corporate travel management company.
AGENCIES:
Vancouver-based Go Direct Marketing has appointed three new members to its ranks. Jim Hamaguchi joins the agency as director of marketing intelligence, moving over from Richmond Savings Credit Union, where he was manager, marketing information. At Go, he will be responsible for marketing technology applications and strategy, as well as research and analytics. The other appointments include Michael Knox, formerly of Dogs Eye Creative, who joins Go Direct as art director, and Kim Sadler, who has signed on as account manager. She comes to Go from Ogilvy & Mather, where she was an account executive.
Wasserman & Partners Advertising of Vancouver has appointed George Pytlik director of its new interactive marketing division. With a background in advertising and online marketing that goes back to 1984, when he founded his own boutique agency, Pytlik will focus on developing the strategic marketing capabilities of the new business unit.

Toronto-based consumer list and database marketing firm ICOM Information and Communications has named Ken Schäfer vice-president, consumer Internet services. Schäfer, a veteran Internet marketer and consumer privacy expert, will be responsible for developing ICOM’s new online products. Also at ICOM, Peter Meyers and Mark Duda have each been promoted to the position of sales director, with Meyers overseeing the packaged goods group and Duda the direct response team. Within those sales units, two new business directors have also been named: Randy Carr in packaged goods and Sheri Paul in direct response.
