Canadians took home eight trophies from this year’s prestigious London International Advertising Awards.
Four of these went to television spots in various categories. Bensimon*Byrne D’Arcy won for its celebrated ‘Rant’ ad, on behalf of Molson Canadian. Gee, Jeffery & Partners and TAXI Advertising & Design also earned TV awards, for work on behalf of Cantel AT&T (now Rogers AT&T) and Salon Selectives, respectively. And Toronto’s Toothin Theatre took home an award in the low-budget category for a mental health awareness spot.
Print awards went to ads by BBDO Canada for Pepsi, and Ogilvy & Mather for American Express Establishment Services. Young & Rubicam picked up a radio award for work on behalf of Toronto.com, while Loblaw Brands earned packaging design honours for President’s Choice Green Cat Litter.
This year’s London International awards attracted 17,799 entries from 77 countries around the world.
